Express yourself!
Have you always wanted to let Team Rockwood know just what you were thinking? Do you wonder why the panels of the strip are laid out horizontally instead of vertically? Or do you have sensitive documents that will bring down the government? In any case, we want to know! Just fill out your name and e-mail address, then let 'er rip! No question or comment is too bizarre for Team Rockwood to take a stab at, and if we can get enough mail coming in, this page will be updated weekly! (Unlike the old mailbag page, which got updated about four times in two years.)
So consider this an experiment in web interactivity. Or, consider it a way to artificially inflate our hit count. Either way, just write in!

March 13, 2005,
I have a question (it's just for fun): If I got in line now for Star Wars and once it opened continued to see it over and over, how many times would I have seen it before I had to be the first in line at the nearest book store for the new Harry Potter book?

Oooo... putting us to the test, eh, Rookee? Fine. We're up for it!
We will, of course, have to make some assumptions. For instance, we're going to assume that this theater in which you'll be spending all of June and most of both May and July will only be open from about 11 a.m. to midnight each day. Since "Revenge of the Sith" is two hours and 20 minutes long, and underpaid theater workers need about 20 minutes between shows to clean and reload the auditorium, you'll only get five showings in per day.
The time from Episode III's opening night of May 19th to the July 16th release date of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is 58 days. The easy answer would be that you could see ROTS 290 times (5 movies/day x 58 days) before the book was out.
However, that's not what you asked, is it? You want to be first in line. Well, we have no reliable way of knowing when the line will start to form, but given that CNN didn't consider it newsworthy for the last Potter book, we're going to assume that 24 hours in advance should be enough.
So, subtracting one day from our total gives us 285 viewings of Episode III, the last of which should end at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, July 14. From there, you can walk straight over to the bookstore and wait for 24 hours until Saturday, July 16th at 12:01 a.m., when we're sure a bemused bookstore employee will gladly sell you a copy of J.K. Rowling's latest cash cow.
Oh, and pick up a copy for us while you're there!

March 13, 2005,
Junior Mints? Maybe that's Kramer, not Darth Sidious...
Or could Kramer and Darth Sidious be the SAME PERSON!?

Kramer is the Emperor? Well, we have to admit we never would have seen through that cover. But somehow we doubt it. It would hard to be master of the universe when he couldn't even be master of his domain.

March 16, 2005,
No, you're not the only one counting down. I have the countdown clock on my computer. As of the time of this letter, there's 2 days, 8 hours, and 29 seconds left.

From when we received this, we can only assume that Syn will also be at a midnight show somewhere. Anyone in the downtown Oklahoma City area on Wednesday night can come by and look for members of Team Rockwood standing in line for the midnight show, here. We'll be the ones geeking out.

March 16, 2005,
After going to Episode 1 during the first days of release, I was so disappointed that I boycotted Episode 2. I had long thought that I would boycott 3, as well. However, it seems that Lucas is using Jedi mind tricks. Today, I hushed a coworker that was reading a review that may or may not have contained spoilers.
But I am so scared to see Episode 3. I am so convinced that Lucas has found a way to turn Lord Vader from the greatest villain of all-time to a wimp who doesn't like himself.

We wouldn't put that past Lucas, DH. After all, Vader did appear to have doubts about himself even way back in "Return of the Jedi" (think about how he looked when the Emperor was shocking Luke). However, the Force (and the Buzz) appear to be strong with this one, so we have to admit we're getting pretty excited. We'll find out if that's justified in just... woo-hoo! ... just ONE MORE DAY! Yeeee-haaa!
